Salient Features

• Twenty-nine students of 2017-21 batch successfully cleared ICAR-AIEEA (PG)-2021 entrance examination and admitted in premier institutes of ICAR accredited colleges
• Two students along with mentor were selected at national level by AICTE Chhatra Viswakarma Award-2020 on topic “Bio-disposal of Plastics by Wax Moth” and demonstrated at National Convention organized by AICTE at New Delhi
• Institute bagged state level award (Third prize) in dance competition in state level Krishi Mahotshav at Bhubaneswar during 2018
• Successfully conducted one day National seminar on Rainfed Agriculture- Strategies for Sustainable Farm Economy (RASSFE -2020). Dr. Ashok Dalwai (CEO, National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare) was the chief guest
• Five students were selected for BIIS 9 (Biotech Innovation Ignition School) organized by DBT–BIRAC (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council) under SRISTI appreciation grant at National Level during 2020 and successfully completed the workshop
• Well-equipped computer lab with LAN and wi-fi facilities have been created for conducting practical on social science subjects
• Successful conduct of online and virtual mode of classes during COVID pandemic situation
• Involving 4th year students in state government sponsored Krushak Unnati Sahajogita (KUS) programme for RAWE. Six students were honoured with best KUS worker by the State Government during 2022
• Implementation of Semester regulation in accordance with ICAR norms
• Acceptance of GIET University statute by State Assembly and inclusion of School of Agriculture for offering four-year B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture course
• Permission of Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha for establishing Faculty of Agriculture
