Curriculum and Pedagogy

In order to bring equity, efficiency and excellence in the Higher Education System, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced “Choice Based Credit System (CBCS)” with the hope that all Universities will adopt these measures to enhance academic standards.

GIET University though partially adopted the CBCS policy, however on the recommendations of Academic Council; a committee has been constituted to prepare a comprehensive plan of action in this regard so that policy of UGC can be implemented in the letter and spirit from the academic year 2019-20

Innovative Curriculum

The core strength of the programmes at GIET University lies in its innovative curriculum, which integrates the strengths of theory with practical and experiential learning. The programme curriculum is frequently revised by bringing in recent case studies and examples from policy making domains. The quality of the curriculum is regularly evaluated by external academicians at different levels

Teaching Pedagogy

Our faculty’s use of communicative strategies encourages pedagogic practices that are interactive in nature and is more likely to have influence on student learning outcomes. Some specific strategies, that promoted this interactive pedagogy includes :

  • Creating an encouraging environment in which students are supported in their learning
  • Evaluating each student by performing Gap Analysis with respect to educational background, Parents support, carreer goal setting, level of communication skills, attitude and experiences etc.
  • Feedback, sustained attention. Teaching with technology engages students with different kinds of stimuli-involve in activity based learning.

Experimental Learning

GIET University is constantly striving to foster strong links with the industry so as to bring invaluable national and international experience into the classrooms. It focuses on hands-on training so that graduates hit the work force with high quality standards.

Visits to relevant sectors of the industry are organized regularly to provide onsite learning experience. Industry internship is part of the course structure and the activity is supported by the training- placement cell of the University
