The prestigious honour is felicitated by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India under the 'Swachhta Action Plan 2020-2021'. GIET University has made a mark and name for itself as the Green Champion of the district of Rayagada with its untiring efforts of promoting Swachhta (cleanliness), Jal Shakti Abhiyan, and proper sanitation plans in the campus and beyond. The award was conferred by Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, (Hon'ble Union of the State for the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. GIET University, Gunupur received the ‘Best Disciplined University for Academics and Ambience’ in the Nation’s Education Pride Awards 2021 Ceremony. The award was conferred by Faggan Singh Kulaste, the Minister of State for Steel, Government of India. The awards ceremony was conducted by Topgallant Media & Research Pvt. Ltd. The minister announced the winners' names through a virtual message and congratulated GIET University, the stakeholders, and everyone associated with the prestigious academy.

GIET University has been crowned the “Best University in Eastern India” for Campus placement at the “Asia Education Summit & Awards 2020”.
