ISTE, SESI, IE (I), professional chapters were established and many programmes are organized with the financial support of these professional chapters.
Departments level student’s associations are also actively involved in conducting Technical, Non- Technical events through TESLA and GYAN associations.

Guest lectures, Technical events & Programmes are arranged through departments level associations and Professional Chapters.

Aavishkar:

A Technical meet and annual function” AAVISHKAR” is conducted every year in the institution to develop creativity and hidden skills of students. This program gives platform to students to show their all-round talent. Student in large number participate in the program to showcase their inherent quality.

Robotics Club:

Robotics club has created a sensation and is proud to be the first of its kind among all the engineering colleges of south Odisha. The Robotics club of GIET is named as “Student Association of Robotix Science (SARS)”.Having been established in August 2008, the club today is an active platform for students to display and develop their practical machine building skills and practical knowledge. Renewable Energy Club:

Renewable energy technologies are clean sources of energy that have a much lower environmental impact than conventional energy technologies. GIET is focusing on development of Renewable energy technology and its application. The Renewable energy club is undertaking various projects, conducting seminars and workshops for improving renewable energy technology.

Apart from Robotics club and Renewable energy club GIET Gunupur has many other vibrant clubs like Science Club and Aeronautics Club.

ISTE Chapter:

ISTE chapter was inaugurated in the year 2003. ISTE, Chapter GIET is the one of the most active ISTE chapter in Odisha and India and received numerous prizes from ISTE, New Delhi. ISTE, GIET has received best chapter award in the year 2010. ISTE, GIET has another feather to its cap when we have received the best chapter for “Highest Membership Drive” award in the year 2011.
