Dr. B. Rabi Prasad is currently working as  Head, Department of Biotechnology, GIET University, Gunupur.

Welcome to the Department of Biotechnology at GIET University.

Biotechnology is a rapidly advancing field that integrates biology and technology to address global challenges in healthcare, agriculture, environmental sustainability, food technology and industrial innovation. Our department is committed to providing quality education, research exposure and skill-based training that prepare students for successful careers in academia, industry, research and entrepreneurship.

The department offers a dynamic learning environment through experienced faculty, modern laboratories, interdisciplinary research, industry collaboration and Outcome-Based Education. A major strength of the department is the Biotech E-YUVA Incubation Centre supported by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Department of Biotechnology,which encourages students and researchers to develop innovative ideas into entrepreneurial and societal solutions.

The department actively promotes participation in research projects, internships, workshops, conferences and technical activities to enhance practical knowledge and professional competence. Our aim is not only to impart academic excellence but also to nurture responsible professionals capable of contributing to societal and technological advancement.
