Dr. Sanjay K KuanarHOD, Department of (Computer Science & Engineering)

Dr. Sanjay K Kuanar has earned his Ph.D. degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in November, 2015, obtained his M. Tech. (C.S.E.) degree from Jadavpur University in 2007.

Dr. Sanjay K. Kuanar is currently serving as Professor and Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department of GIET University. He has earned his Ph.D. degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in November, 2015, obtained his M.E. (Computer Engineering) degree from Jadavpur University in 2007 and B.Tech Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Utkal University in 1998 . His research interests include computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning and multimedia computing. His primary research is focused on exploring different machine learning techniques in solving several challenging problems in summarizing and segmenting videos. He has (co)authored several publications in refereed SCI journals including IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, Elsevier’s JVCIR and International conferences like ICPR, ICAPR etc. His papers got many citations with h-index and i-10 index of 4 each. He has reviewed several International Journals like IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (TMM), IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics and Elsevier’s JVCIR. His total teaching experience is 20 years.

Dr. Sanjay K Kuanar is a self motivated and self driven leader and has taken several initiatives for the development of the department.
