The Humanities and Social Sciences department at GIET University was established with a vision to integrate human values and social concerns along with technical education. Humanities and Social Sciences studies human behavior and interaction in social, cultural, economic, and political dimensions. The post-graduate course aims to develop the empathetic and intellectual capabilities of the students. And make them aware of their social surroundings. Students need to observe every situation critically and come up with efficient solutions to deal with any situation.

Master of Arts in English

Master of Arts in English is a two-year post-graduate program divided into four semesters. The program deals with the study of Literature and the English Language. Candidates who want to pursue it need a Bachelor’s degree. This degree equips students with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students also get to develop original insight and pursue academic discourse. The department takes great pride to introduce a syllabus that is thoroughly researched and meticulously planned. Masters of Arts in Economics

Masters of Arts in Economics is a two years duration course divided into four semesters. Students who wish to pursue this course need to have a Bachelor’s degree. The Economics degree aims to expose students to economic theory as well as data analysis. The course is designed to include economic models and methods that provide an in-depth and thorough understanding. The focus is to familiarise the students with critical economic questions like the main drivers of the economy! How are the economic policies formulated to promote growth and at the same time reduce inequality? What is the importance of taxation? How are mathematical models used to explain the economic phenomenon?

Master of Arts in Education is a two-year post-graduation course divided into four semesters. The eligibility condition is a bachelor’s degree. The course ideology is to provide education simply and easily to the students with Science and Technology and conceptual techniques. The program aims to educate students with the knowledge and skills required to contribute effectively to the educational sector.

Social Work as a discipline is concerned with socially marginalized, deprived, and disadvantaged sections of society.
