The department of Chemical Engineering, conducts 4 years degree course in Engineering. The course is designed by the University, and aimed at making the students well versed with the recent trends in Chemical Engineering.

Chemical engineering plays a vital role in various aspects of our daily needs and the world at large. It is the application of the principles of chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics, with help of principles of economics, safety and environmental protection for the welfare of community. Some important aspects include:

  • Production of essential items like food, clothing, shelter, healthcare products
  • Energy generation like oil refining, natural gas processing.
  • Environmental sustainability like pollution control, waste management, climate change mitigation
  • Medical advancement like development in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostic equipments.
  • Innovation like nanotechnology, biotechnology, material sciences

The scope of Chemical Engineering in India is booming at present.

The Department of Chemical Engineering at GIET University, Gunupur was established in 1997. We are committed to train our students with both theoretical and practical knowledge of Chemical Engineering.

We are offering 4 years of Bachelor in Technology and Master in Technology programme. We also have Ph.D. program in various aspects of Chemical Engineering. Our faculties are having experiences in both industry and education. They are committed to provide the optimal educational experience.

We monitor the trends in the field of chemical engineering and frame the curriculum as pert the latest trends & technologies in Chemical Engineering beyond the syllabus offered by our university.

We are pleased to name a few of our industries who are giving opportunity to learn to our young budding engineers at their sites like JK Paper Ltd, Hygrochemicals, Deccan fine chemicals, Glenmark Pharma, Aditya Birla Groups, RTML, Reliance Refinery, etc.
