TEJAS (Transforming Entrepreneurial Journeys Across State & Districts)

GIET University, Gunupur, hosted a district-level workshop under the TEJAS (Transforming Entrepreneurial Journeys Across State & Districts) initiative on 5 September 2026, bringing together Startup India, DPIIT, Startup Odisha, the District Administration and the Atal Community Innovation Center (ACIC) GIET University Foundation to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Rayagada.

The workshop focused on taking entrepreneurship and innovation beyond metropolitan centres by connecting students, aspiring entrepreneurs and startups with mentorship, institutional support, government initiatives and opportunities for growth.

The programme featured insightful technical sessions on the Startup India ecosystem, DPIIT recognition, startup benefits and making ventures bank-ready, along with two engaging panel discussions focusing on Odisha’s startup ecosystem and the entrepreneurial potential of Rayagada’s local resources.

The presence and participation of distinguished administrators, government representatives, industry leaders, ecosystem experts and academic leaders added significant value to the deliberations and created meaningful opportunities for knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

A vibrant project and startup showcase further highlighted the creativity and entrepreneurial potential emerging from the region.

The TEJAS initiative reflects a larger vision of building an inclusive and geographically diverse startup ecosystem, empowering entrepreneurs at the grassroots and enabling local ideas to evolve into sustainable enterprises.
