Seminar on Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation in the Aquaculture and Fisheries Sector

A seminar on “Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation in the Aquaculture and Fisheries Sector” was successfully organized on 27 July 2026 (Monday) from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mega Auditorium, GIET University, Gunupur.

The program aimed to create awareness among students, researchers, academicians, and aspiring entrepreneurs about emerging technologies, innovation-driven opportunities, sustainable aquaculture practices, value addition, and entrepreneurship in the fisheries sector.

The event was graced by Dr. N. K. Barik, Principal Scientist, ICAR–Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA), Bhubaneswar, as the chief guest. The program was also honored by the presence of Dr. G. R. K. D. Satya Prasad, Director R&D, GIET University Foundation; Dr. A. V. N. L. Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GIET University, Gunupur; and Mr. Abhishek Das, Business Manager, ICAR–Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA), Bhubaneswar. During the seminar, the distinguished speakers shared valuable insights on the latest technological advancements, startup opportunities, government support schemes, and innovative business models in aquaculture and fisheries.

The interactive session encouraged active participation from the audience and inspired students to explore entrepreneurial ventures and research opportunities in this rapidly growing sector. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving participants motivated to contribute to sustainable and technology-driven development in the aquaculture and fisheries ecosystem.
