Patha Utsav and Walkathon 2024, a significant event promoting community awareness and societal welfare, was organized at the sub divisional level, drawing attendance from a diverse group of officials, educational institutions, and NSS teams. This year’s program was honored by the presence of eminent dignitaries, including the Sub-Collector, Deputy Sub-Collector, Assistant Sub-Collector, District Welfare Officer, and distinguished retired teacher Sri Ranga Nayak, who served as the Guest of Honor.
The event witnessed active participation from students of various educational institutions, including National Service Scheme (NSS) members, Program Officers (P.Os), and faculty coordinators. They joined the rally, which began at the Sub-Collector’s Office and concluded at the Town hall, reflecting unity and enthusiasm toward social causes.
The rally commenced from the Sub-Collector’s Office and proceeded through the main streets, promoting the theme of community welfare and encouraging active public participation in civic initiatives. Alongside, awareness was raised about the importance of the Voter Helpline App, which is available on the Play Store. This app aims to simplify and increase accessibility to voting information and processes for citizens, encouraging them to exercise their voting rights more effectively.
Upon reaching the Town hall, a formal meeting was conducted, where the Sub-Collector addressed the attendees, emphasizing the significance of civic awareness and social responsibility. This was followed by an impactful cultural program organized by NSS students, focusing on various aspects of societal welfare. Through their performances, the students highlighted critical social issues and advocated for active community involvement in addressing these concerns.
A moment of pride for the event was the presentation of an award to the NSS team from GIET University. The Sub-Collector honored the team for delivering the best walkathon and an exceptional cultural program centered on social welfare, recognizing their dedication to community service and impactful engagement.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Deputy Sub-Collector, expressing gratitude to all officials, guests, and participants for their involvement in making Patha Utsav and Walkathon 2024 a memorable and meaningful event. This initiative serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility toward societal welfare and civic awareness, with a special emphasis on empowering the youth to lead change in their communities.
