The SAE Club , Department of mechanical Engineering of GIET University successfully conducted a one-day webinar on “Go-Kart Design and Challenges,” on  15th February 2025, 6:30 PM organized by Santosh Kumar Tripathy, Faculty Coordinator of SAE Club. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Kali Charan Rath, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The webinar featured two esteemed alumni of 2017-21 batch as guest speakers: Mr. Anindya Animesh Dash, Mechanical Engineer at L&T Construction, and Mr. Aniket Kumar, Assistant Manager at Honda R&D India Pvt. Ltd. The webinar aimed to educate students on the fundamental aspects of go-kart design and the challenges faced during manufacturing and racing applications.

The session covered various crucial topics, including go-kart design fundamentals, challenges in material selection, weight optimization, powertrain performance, safety regulations, and career prospects in the automotive sector. The speakers shared their real-world experiences, providing valuable industry insights to students. An interactive Q&A session allowed participants to clarify their doubts and gain a deeper understanding of go-kart engineering.

The webinar had a significant impact, equipping students with modern design techniques and industry knowledge. It also strengthened alumni engagement, inspiring students to undertake innovative projects in the field. The event received an overwhelming response and was deemed a grand success.
