Introduction
National Girl Child Day, celebrated on January 24th in India, highlights the importance of empowering girls by promoting their rights, education, and health. It aims to create awareness about gender equality, combat discrimination, and inspire collective efforts toward uplifting girl children, ensuring they receive equal opportunities for a bright and secure future.
Inauguration Ceremony
The program began with an inauguration by Mrs. K. Jayashree, Principal of the Nursing Department, who delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the need for gender equality and education for girls. The event was further graced by the presence of Programme Officer Ms. Ghanishtha Prusty and NSS members Ms. Niharika Patel, Ms. Nirmala Patel, Mrs. Y. Jyothi, Ms. Jayanti Dang, Mr. Bani Prasad Nayak Convenor, NSS, Mr. Premansu Rath, Mr. Pramod Ranjan Panda, Mr. Gopal Krushna Mohanty and Mr. S. Sibajee whose active participation added great value to the event.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit-II of GIET University celebrated National Girl Child Day with great enthusiasm and community participation at Narasinmunda village, Gunupur. The event was organized to raise awareness about the significance of empowering girl children and fostering a supportive environment for their growth and development.
