GIET University Organizes Voluntary Mega Blood Donation Camp on National Service Scheme Day: 602 Units Collected.

Gunupur, 24.09.24: On the occasion of National Service Scheme (NSS) Day, GIET University, Gunupur, hosted a voluntary mega blood donation camp. The event, organized by the university’s NSS wing, saw the collection of a total of 602 units of blood.

The camp was inaugurated by Subhranjali Pradhan, Block Development Officer of Gunupur, who attended as the chief guest. She lauded the university for its humanitarian efforts and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in serving society.

Key university officials, including Vice Chancellor Dr. A.V.N. L. Sharma, Registrar Dr. N.V. Jagannadha Rao, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology A.B. Srinivas Rao, and Controller of Examinations Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, were present to motivate the blood donors.

Professor Bani Prasad Nayak, NSS Coordinator, along with Ghanista prusty,Dr. Premanshu Shekhar Rath, Gopal Krishna Mohanty, Pramod Ranjan Panda, Dhumes Meher, Nirmal Patel, Priyanka Patra, Niharika Patel, Jayanti Dang, Nitish Das, Sandeep Jena, Gayatri Rani Panda, and sports officer Rabindra Kumar Panda, among others, played a crucial role in organizing the camp.

The blood collection was facilitated by the medical staff from various blood banks. Dr. Manoj Kumar Tudu, along with technicians Gopal Krishna Panda, Sushanta Kumar Panigrahi, and others, collected 302 units from the Berhampur Blood Bank. Dr. Sujata Devi and her team from the Gunupur Blood Bank collected 100 units, while Dr. Alu Rahul and his team from the Rayagada Blood Bank collected 200 units.

Students, faculty members, and staff of GIET University enthusiastically participated in the event, donating blood as a part of their commitment to community service. In recognition of the university’s contribution to the cause, Dr. N.V. Jagannadha Rao, Registrar of GIET University, was honored with a memento by the Berhampur Blood Bank.

The camp was widely appreciated for its success and its contribution to the region’s blood reserves.
