Gunupur, 02-10-2024: GIET University Gunupur celebrated Swachh Bharat Dowas and Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti with grandeur today on the university campus. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor A.V.N.L. Sharma, paid tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of adopting Gandhi’s ideals and thoughts in daily life and his ideology on cleanliness. Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, Professor A.B. Srinivas Rao, Controller of Examinations Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, along with other department heads, faculty members, students, and staff, were present at the event.
The program was coordinated by key members of the National Service Scheme (NSS), including Bani Prasad Nayak, Pramod Ranjan Panda, Gopal Krishna Mahanta, Ghanistha Prusty, Dhumesh Meher, Dr. Nishit Das, and sports officer Ravindra Kumar Panda. During the event, the Vice-Chancellor administered a pledge for cleanliness, followed by a cleanliness awareness rally around the campus, and a campus-wide cleaning drive was conducted.
