Learning Experience at Garuda Aerospace

Mr. Manas Ranjan Panda, Asst. Professor, Mechanical Engineering Dept. attended a comprehensive training on agricultural drones at Garuda Aerospace pvt. Ltd. in Chennai from June18th to June 22nd, 2024. During this period, he gained in-depth knowledge on several critical topics essential for proficient drone operation in the agriculture field. The training covered the basic principles of flight, rotorcraft operations, and aerodynamics, providing a solid foundation for understanding drone mechanics. He learned about the anatomy of agricultural drones and participated in demonstrations to see their functionality. Mr. Manas also engaged in simulation practices and hands-on flying exercises, enhancing his practical skills in drone operation. The course included information on stakeholders, relevant laws, and Air Traffic Control (ATC) procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. Additionally, he was trained on drone maintenance, including checklist services, and conducted risk assessment analysis to prioritize safety management. The training concluded with insights into drone payload installation and an introduction to drone data analysis. The training program helped equipping Mr. Manas with the skills to effectively utilize drone technology in agriculture.
Upon returning to the University, Mr. Manas Has delivered a talk on 02.07.2024 about his learning experience to the faculties of different schools.
