The presentation with clear understanding and educating the audience was highly appreciated by all the faculties. Students also took keen interest and participated actively in the discussion forum.

The speaker gave a brief introduction on the topic emphasizing the importance of Agroforestry for Sustainable Livelihood, which is gaining much importance today. Agroforestry offers us a viable path toward a sustainable future, bridging the gap between agricultural productivity and environmental stewardship.

She explained the two key perspectives on how agroforestry contributes to sustainable livelihoods: one focuses on its environmental benefits, while the other highlights its economic and social advantages. She highlighted the benefits of agroforestry as it enhances biodiversity and in turns helps in preserving soil quality and improving water retention, leading to increased agricultural yields. Also, it provides a source of income for farmers and contributes to carbon sequestration, making it a powerful tool to fight against climate change.

At the end, vote of thanks was given by Ms. Sumana Balo, Asst. Prof., Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry who concluded the session that Agroforestry is not just an agricultural technique; it is a holistic approach that nurtures the land, supports communities, and fosters resilience. As we move forward, let us embrace this sustainable practice, recognizing its potential to transform lives and landscapes alike.
