Inauguration of Spoken Tutorial Skill Accelerator Lab

The Spoken Tutorial Skill Accelerator Lab was inaugurated at GIET University, Gunupur, Odisha, on 12th March 2026, marking a significant milestone in promoting digital skill enhancement and self-paced learning among students. Ms. Ankita Singh, Training Manager, Spoken Tutorial, Edupyramids, SINE, IIT Bombay, graced the occasion as the guest speaker. She highlighted the uniqueness and objectives of the Skill Accelerator Lab, emphasizing how the Spoken Tutorial initiative—pioneered by IIT Bombay—equips learners with essential technical and professional competencies through interactive, multilingual e-learning modules. On this occasion, Dr. C. D. Panda, Vice President of GIET University, addressed the gathering and underlined the vital role of skill development in shaping the future workforce and enhancing employability. He encouraged students to actively utilize the Lab’s facilities to advance their practical knowledge in emerging technologies. Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, Controller of Examinations, and Dr. A. V. N. L. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, also shared their insights, appreciating the introduction of such a forward-looking learning infrastructure that bridges the gap between curriculum and real-world skills. They commended the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and continuous learning among its students. The success of this initiative was attributed to Mr. Satya Narayan Das, ICT Coordinator, who played a pivotal role in setting up the lab. His efforts were widely appreciated by all dignitaries and faculty members, as this is the first and only Skill Accelerator Lab in Odisha under the Spoken Tutorial Program—further establishing GIET University as a leader in technology-enabled education. The event concluded with an interactive session, where students expressed their enthusiasm to explore the learning opportunities offered through the Spoken Tutorial platform and the newly established Skill Accelerator Lab.
