The NCC Cadets of GIET University actively participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC–1) organized by 13(O) Battalion NCC, Nabarangpur, from 8th June to 17th June 2026. The ten-day camp provided an excellent platform for cadets to enhance their leadership qualities, discipline, teamwork, physical fitness, and military orientation through a series of structured training sessions and competitions.
During the camp, the cadets underwent rigorous training in various NCC activities, including Field Craft, Battle Craft, Weapon Training, RDC Drill, Physical Training, Map Reading, and Parade. These activities helped the cadets develop confidence, coordination, decision-making abilities, and a deeper understanding of military practices and national service. The camp also included personality development sessions and leadership-oriented activities that contributed significantly to the overall growth of the participants.
The GIET University NCC Cadets demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm and dedication throughout the camp. They actively participated in various sports events, debate competitions, and essay writing competitions, bringing laurels to the university by securing medals and accolades in multiple categories. Their remarkable performance reflected the values of discipline, determination, and teamwork instilled through NCC training.
A notable highlight of the camp was the active involvement of GIET University cadets in Field Craft and Battle Craft demonstrations, where they showcased their practical skills and training. The cadets also displayed commendable performance during RDC Drill practices and other military-oriented activities conducted during the camp.
The camp concluded with a valedictory function, where achievements and contributions of the participants were recognized. It was a matter of great pride and honor that an Award of Appreciation was presented by Col. Sunil Kumar, MS, Commanding Officer, 13(O) Battalion NCC, Nabarangpur, in recognition of outstanding contribution and participation during CATC–1. This recognition served as a motivation for all cadets to continue striving for excellence in their future NCC endeavors.
Overall, CATC–1 proved to be a highly enriching and memorable experience for the NCC Cadets of GIET University. The camp not only enhanced their physical and mental capabilities but also strengthened their sense of discipline, leadership, patriotism, and social responsibility. The achievements of the cadets and the recognition received during the camp have brought pride and honor to GIET University and further reinforced the institution’s commitment to holistic student development through NCC activities.
