Awareness Program on QS Ranking

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GIET University, Gunupur, in collaboration with QS I-GAUGE, India, successfully organized an Awareness Programme on QS Ranking in virtual mode on 29^th of August 2025. The programme aimed at sensitizing the academic and administrative leaders of the University on the requirements of global quality standards and the significance of international ranking frameworks.

The programme commenced with Prof. (Dr.) A.V.N.L. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, GIET University, presenting a brief introduction of the University, followed by Prof. (Dr.) N.V. Jagannadha Rao, Registrar, who highlighted the University’s accreditations, awards, accolades, and emphasized the importance of QS Ranking in institutional development.

Delivering the keynote, Mr. Debtanu Sanyal, Manager – Client Relations, QS I-GAUGE, expressed his gratitude to the organizers and provided an in-depth presentation on the importance of global benchmarking in higher education. He elaborated on the ranking methodology, documentation process, and performance indicators, while stressing how participation in QS Rankings strengthens institutional visibility, fosters international collaborations, enhances employability prospects, and contributes to academic reputation. His talk offered valuable strategies for aligning university practices with global standards of excellence.

The session also included an interactive Q&A, where participants raised queries on ranking parameters, data submission, and implementation challenges. Mr. Sanyal responded with practical insights and relevant examples, making the discussion highly engaging and informative.

The event recorded active participation from more than 30 educators and academic leaders, including Deans, Heads of Departments, teachers, academic coordinators, curriculum developers, and IQAC members, representing disciplines such as Engineering and Technology, Science, Humanities, Nursing, and Agriculture.

The programme concluded on a positive note, reaffirming GIET University’s commitment towards adopting global best practices and striving for excellence in higher education through participation in international ranking systems.
