On this occasion, the “Akhi Muthi Anukula” ceremony, which marks the beginning of the agricultural season, by sowing the seeds was organized in the college premises. The Associate Dean of the School of Agriculture, Mr. Ashok Kumar Mishra, started the puja rituals of the programme.
The programme was attended by faculty members, staff, and 4th year students of the college. During the puja, traditional farming activities such as ploughing the field with bullocks and sowing seeds were demonstrated.
The event highlighted the importance of agriculture and traditional farming practices. Students were informed about the significance of “Akshaya Tritiya” in farming and the need to preserve indigenous agricultural traditions.
At the end of the programme, everyone prayed for a good and timely rainfall, and prosperity for farmers with ample harvest. The President of GIET University, Dr. Satyaprakash Panda, Vice-President, Dr. Chandradhwaja Panda, Director General, Dr. Jagadish Panda, Vice- Chancellor, Dr. A.V.N.L. Sharma and Registrar, Dr. N. V. J. Rao congratulated everyone and expressed their best wishes for an excellent harvest in the coming season.
