STUDY TOUR-2025 FOR 2022-2026 BATCH B. Sc. Hons. (AGRICULTURE) STUDENTS

From 14^th June 2025 to 21^st June 2025

As a part of the academic curriculum, a study tour was organized from 14^th to 21^st June 2025 for the 2022-26 batch of B.Sc. Agriculture students, covering important agricultural and horticultural research stations across Andhra Pradesh to provide them with practical exposure. The students visited Sri Satyadeva Nursery in Kadiyam, where they learned about the identification, propagation, and export of different ornamental plants. At the ICAR-National Institute for Research on Commercial Agriculture, students learned about tobacco curing and value addition of other commercial crops such as Turmeric, Chilli, Ashwagandha, and Castor. In Dr. YSR Horticultural University, they visited the Post Harvest Technology Research Station, where they learned about the steps to be followed after harvesting fruits and vegetables and their preservation techniques. The tour also included a visit to the Regional Agriculture Research Station at Chintapalle, where students learned about integrated farming systems and honey bee production, and to the Horticulture Research Station at Chintapalle, where they learned about black pepper and coffee production and the storage techniques of turmeric and ginger. At the Regional Agriculture Research Station in Anakapalle, the focus was on the production and varietal development of sugarcane, as well as the production of Biofertilizers and Biocontrol agents. The tour enriched the students practical knowledge and introduced them to advanced agricultural practices and research activities.
