Proceedings of the event held on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) on the eve of World Intellectual Property Day on 27th April, 2024
Every year, the World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated on 26th of April that aims to spread awareness about the intellectual property rights and how it encourages innovation and creativity to drive human progress. The GIET University had organized an event on 27th of April, 2024 for the students of School of Agriculture as per the designated theme “IP and SDGs: Building common future with Innovation and Creativity and Role of HEIs.”
The inaugural speech was convened by Dr. Manoj Das, HOD of School of Biotechnology, giving an overview of intellectual property rights. The hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, GIETU, Dr. A.V.N.L Sharma, shed light on the importance of property rights and how its usage can leverage the innovators and the economy as a whole. He also emphasized on how IPR incentivizes researchers, academics and students to develop new technologies. So, Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) act as hubs for innovation and knowledge development.
