Value Added Courses (Courses)
The department of Computer Science and Technology at GIET University has several Value-Added Courses. The goal of these courses is to provide a learner-centric technical program. These courses provide students with an awareness of the expectations of the job industry and improve the employability skills of the students. The courses also bridge the skill gaps and the students become industry-ready. The courses focus on skill development and the emphasis of these courses is on providing students practical training and improve their problem-solving skills.

Infosys Campus Connect Program
Campus Connect is an industry-academia partnership initiative undertaken by Infosys. This initiative aims to increase the employability of engineering students by enhancing their education level. Infosys shares with its partner colleges its proven courseware, methodology and education experiences. These courses enhance the Information Technology (IT) industry specific basic knowledge and skills of the students and increase their employability.
Oracle Academy Courses
The Department of Computer Science and Technology at GIET University is recognised as a training centre for Oracle Academy Courses. Oracle Academy Courses conduct certification courses in JAVA Fundamentals, JAVA Programming and Database Fundamentals. These courses are formulated to provide students with basic knowledge and skills in areas of computer science that are in high demand across different computing jobs.
Communication Skill Development
Communication skills equip students with effective speaking and listening skills in English. At a time when information technology (IT) jobs are so much in demand, we believe that the inability to speak fluent English should be a hindrance for our students in landing their dream job. Our communication skill development course trains students to use language effectively to face job interviews, sit for group discussions and fluently address the public.
Soft Skills Training and Development
Soft skills are non-technical skills that relate to how one works. They include how a person interacts with colleagues, how they solve problems, and how they manage their work. Soft skills play an important role in the development of the student’s overall personality and thus improving their career prospects. The Computer Science and Technology Department has a separate course on soft skills training that focuses on business correspondence, presentations, leadership, time management, interpersonal skills that helps students to improve their soft skills and increase their chances of landing the dream job.
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification courses improve the technical expertise of information technology (IT) professionals through rigorous, industry-proven and industry-recognised examinations. These exams cover a wide range of Microsoft products, technologies, and solutions. The Department of Computer Science and Technology at GIET University is a recognised training centre for MCP Certification and provides training to the students on these products, technologies and solutions.
