World Breastfeeding Week

The School of Nursing, GIET University, Gunupur, proudly observed World Breastfeeding Week at MKCG Medical College & Hospital (MKCGMCH), Berhampur, and Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH), Gunupur, reaffirming its commitment to maternal and child health.

Our dedicated nursing students conducted poster presentations and health education sessions for antenatal and postnatal mothers, highlighting the importance of:

✅ Early initiation of breastfeeding
✅ Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months
✅ Correct breastfeeding techniques
✅ Continued breastfeeding up to two years and beyond

The awareness programme received an overwhelming response and appreciation from mothers, attendants, and healthcare professionals, helping spread the message that breastfeeding is the foundation of a healthier future for every child.
