SARS Club

Aryan Patnaik and Ayush Kumar Biswal, students of the CSE department and members of SARS Club at GIET University, Gunupur, brought laurels to their institution by winning the 1st Prize in Geobotics (Mining Robotics) and 2nd Prize in Rock Paper Pap (Technical Paper Presentation) at MINARE ’26 — the Annual Geo-Technical Festival of NIT Rourkela, held on 7th and 8th March 2026. The students, mentored by Dr. Ashish Tiwary, Faculty Mentor of SARS Club, participated across all events of the two-day national festival, competing against students from IITs and NITs in a domain outside their own discipline. MINARE, now in its milestone 10th edition, is one of India’s premier student-driven mining and geoscience festivals, organised by the Mining Engineering Society of NIT Rourkela.
