International Women’s Day, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

On the occasion of *International Women’s Day, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)* of GIET University successfully organized an awareness programme on “Women’s Health: Cervical Cancer Prevention and the Role of HPV Vaccination”today (6th March 2026) at 10:30 AM in the Mega Auditorium.
The programme began with a Welcome Address by Dr. Rajeswari Das, Assistant Professor, Soil Science, School of Agriculture and Convenor, Internal Complaints Committee.
We were honoured to have our esteemed speakers Dr. D. Harsavalli (MBBS, MD – Obstetrics & Gynaecology) and Dr. Y. V. L. Bhavani (MBBS, MS, DNB – Obstetrics & Gynaecology) from KIMS Hospital, Srikakulam. They delivered insightful sessions on cervical cancer awareness, the importance of HPV vaccination, menstrual health, nutrition, mental health, and overall women’s well-being.
The esteemed speakers were felicitated by Prof. (Dr.)G. L. Dutta, Ex- Vice Chairman and Director, K.L. University and Prof. (Dr.) Chandra Dhwaj Panda, Vice- President, GIET University acknowledging their valuable contribution to spreading awareness among students.
The event was moderated by Sushree Sanskruti Lenka, 4th year B.Sc. Agriculture  student and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 700 students from various departments.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Nithya B., Associate Professor, Clinical Psychology, School of Nursing and Co-Convenor, Internal Complaints Committee, GIET University.
The session proved to be highly informative and meaningful, promoting awareness about women’s health, cervical cancer and preventive care among students.
