Report on Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 District-Level Competition Held at GIET University, Gunupur.
The District-Level Competition of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 was successfully held at GIET University, Gunupur, on 25-02.2026 with the participation of young representatives from across Rayagada district.
Dr. A.V.N.L. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of GIET University, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Mr. Bani Prasad Nayak, Programme Coordinator; Mr. Pramod Ranjan Panda and Mrs. Ghanista Prusty, Programme Officer-Unit – II, were present on the dais.
The jury panel comprised Mr. Sasibhusana Mohanty, Retired Principal and former DPO; Mr. Jyotiranjan Pattanaik, Lecturer in Political Science, Gunupur College; Mr. A.V.B. Gupta, DPO, NSS Rayagada; Mr. Raghunath Bhue, Lecturer in Odia, Rayagada Women’s College; and Mr. Biswanath Nayak, Lecturer in Political Science, Muniguda.
A total of 30 students from different institutes across Rayagada district participated in the competition. Following evaluation, five students were selected for the next level. The selected participants are Rajeswari Bhattaray, Aksita Mishra, Saishree Priyadarshi, Sasmita Behera, and Haseeb Faraz.
The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament serves as a platform for young voices to engage in national discussions and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. The initiative promotes leadership, civic participation, and informed policy discussions among students.
Inspired by the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this edition is being conducted fully offline through MY Bharat to maximize youth participation. The programme follows a three-tier structure: District Level in selected nodal districts and institutions, State Level at State Assembly venues, and National Level in New Delhi.
