GIET University, Vidya Vihar, Gunupur, proudly organized the CYBER SAFETY MUSEUM as a part of the Cyber Safety Campaign; Odisha–2025, in collaboration with the Rayagada District Administration and Police Administration. The initiative aimed to raise awareness among students and the community about the importance of cyber safety, digital ethics, and secure online practices in today’s technology-driven society. The inaugural ceremony was held on 23rd October 2025 at the MBA Auditorium, GIET University. The program commenced at 10:00 A.M. with the invitation of dignitaries to the dais, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and rendition of the Odia State Song, symbolizing the spirit of enlightenment and unity. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. K. M. Gopal, Deputy Dean, Computational Sciences, GIET University, who highlighted the university’s continuous efforts in promoting digital literacy and cyber awareness. This was followed by an inspiring address by Prof. AVNL Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, GIET University, emphasizing the growing need for cyber safety education among youth. Prof. (Dr.) Chandra Dhwaj Panda, Vice President, GIET University, also addressed the gathering, commending the collaborative efforts of the institution and administration in organizing this impactful event. The ceremony was graced by eminent guests from the district administration. Mr. Abhishek Dilip Dudhal, IAS, Sub-Collector & SDM, Gunupur, and Ms. Swathy S. Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Rayagada, shared valuable insights on cybercrime prevention, responsible digital citizenship, and the role of youth in ensuring a safer cyberspace. The Chief Guest, Shri Ashutosh Kulkarni, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Rayagada, delivered an enlightening address on the importance of collective responsibility in combating cyber threats and promoting digital resilience in society. The dignitaries were felicitated for their presence and contribution to the event. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. S. N. Das, Head, Department of Computer Science & Applications, and GIET University, followed by the National Anthem. This initiative reflects GIET University’s dedication to advancing digital safety and creating an informed community capable of navigating the cyber world responsibly. The Cyber Safety Museum serves as a significant milestone in promoting cyber awareness, showcasing real-life cases, preventive tools, and educational exhibits to encourage safe and responsible digital practices among students and the public.
