Hacknovation 1.0

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, organized Hacknovation 1.0 on 10th and 11th October 2025 at GIET University, Gunupur. The two-day university-level hackathon provided a platform for students to showcase their technical skills, creativity, and innovative thinking to solve real-world challenges using cutting-edge technologies. Participants formed interdisciplinary teams to work on diverse problem statements related to Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Healthcare, Agriculture, and Smart Systems. The event aimed to foster innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving among students while preparing them for national and international hackathon challenges. Hacknovation 1.0 witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate students across various departments, supported by mentors and faculty members from the Department of CSE. The event concluded with the evaluation of projects by an expert panel, followed by the announcement of winners and the distribution of certificates and awards.

Cyber Security:

With the rise of misinformation, deep fake videos, and AI-generated propaganda, there’s an urgent need for real-time fake news detection. Build a system that identifies fake news articles or deep fake videos with high accuracy.

Education:

How might we leverage open-source AI to transform teaching effectiveness in India’s low-income and government schools, where teachers face systemic challenges in delivering quality education to large, diverse classrooms with limited resources?

Healthcare:

How might we leverage AI to revolutionize healthcare delivery, bridging critical gaps in accessibility, affordability, and quality while ensuring inclusive care across diverse geographic and socioeconomic barriers?

Skilling:

How might we leverage open-source AI to revolutionize skill development for India’s youth, bridging the critical gap between current capabilities and rapidly evolving industry demands while ensuring inclusive access across socioeconomic barriers?
