The Center for Excellence on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) at GIET University, Gunupur-765022, is committed to preserving, promoting, and integrating India’s rich cultural and intellectual heritage into modern education. As part of its ongoing initiatives, the Center organized an Expert Talk on “Jagannath Consciousness and the Philosophy of Universalism” on June 21, 2025. The program began with the ceremonial invitation of dignitaries to the dais, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Raghvendra Kumar, IKS Convener. Dr. Dulu Patnaik, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, and Dr. A. V. N. L. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the relevance of IKS in shaping value-based education. The highlight of the event was the insightful lecture by Dr. Krushna Panda, Principal of Degree College, Dombosora, who explored the universal message of Lord Jagannath and its relevance to global harmony, inclusivity, and spiritual consciousness. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Radha Krushna Padhi, IKS Coordinator. The event exemplified the university’s dedication to fostering intellectual and cultural dialogue through IKS, bridging ancient wisdom with contemporary thought. Dr. N.V.J. Rao, Registrar of GIET University, also appreciated the Center’s initiatives in reviving traditional Indian philosophies.
