- Advanced Skills & Simulation Laboratory
Our Advanced Skills and Simulation Laboratory is a fully equipped facility designed to replicate real-life clinical scenarios in a safe, controlled, and learner-friendly environment. This integrated lab combines the functions of the Medical-Surgical Nursing Lab and Simulation Lab, allowing students to practice and master advanced nursing procedures across a range of specialties including adult health, critical care, surgical nursing, and emergency interventions.
Key Features and Equipment
- High-fidelity mannequins (full-body adult and pediatric simulators) capable of simulating realistic physiological responses (e.g., pulse, breath sounds, cardiac rhythms, and vocalizations).
- Task trainers and procedural models for intravenous cannulation, urinary catheterization, tracheostomy care, nasogastric tube insertion, wound dressing, and CPR.
- Advanced simulators for airway management, injection administration via multiple routes (IM, IV, ID, SC), intubation simulator, ng tube insertion simulator.
- A dedicated ICU simulation suite, complete with oxygen delivery systems, suction apparatus, multi-parameter monitors, defibrillators, and infusion pumps.
- Specialized zones for trauma and emergency response training, burn care procedures, and isolation care.
-  Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nursing Laboratory
The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nursing Lab at the School of Nursing, GIET University is a dedicated and well-equipped facility designed to prepare nursing students for comprehensive maternal, neonatal, and paediatric care. Our MCH Lab offers a realistic, supportive environment that fosters experiential learning through demonstration, simulation, and hands-on practice. It is purposefully designed to emulate clinical and community maternity settings to enhance the students’ clinical acumen, critical thinking, and empathetic communication skills.

Paediatric Nursing Lab

- Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) models for promoting maternal-infant bonding in low-birth-weight care
- Feeding and suctioning models for newborn feeding techniques and airway management
- Anthropometric measurement tools for infants and children (infantometers, baby scales, MUAC tapes)
Community Health Nursing Laboratory
The Community Health Nursing Laboratory at the School of Nursing, GIET University serves as a simulated extension of community environments, enabling students to acquire practical skills essential for promoting, maintaining, and restoring health across the lifespan particularly in rural, urban, and underserved populations. Our lab is strategically designed to reflect real-world scenarios encountered in home visits, sub-centers, primary health centers (PHCs), and community outreach programs.
Lab Features and Infrastructure
- Mock home environment with household items for practicing home care techniques
- Maternal and child health corner for antenatal check-ups, newborn care, and growth monitoring
- Immunization area equipped with vaccine carriers, cold chain equipment, and immunization models
- Health education and counselling area with AV aids (flip charts, posters, IEC materials)
- Portable diagnostic kits including BP apparatus, glucometers, weighing scales, haemoglobin meters
- Environmental sanitation demonstration models (water purification, waste disposal, latrine models)
Preclinical Science Laboratory
Preclinical Science Lab meticulously designed to strengthen the students’ understanding of human anatomy, physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, and pathology—critical subjects that underpin safe and effective nursing care.

Nutrition Laboratory
Nutrition Lab serves as an interactive learning environment where students gain practical skills in dietary planning, meal preparation, nutritional assessment, and diet counselling tailored to individuals across all stages of life and health conditions.

- Fully functional kitchen setup with gas burners, utensils, measuring tools, and food processors
- Workstations for cooking demonstrations, therapeutic diet preparation, and group activities
- Display models and charts illustrating food groups, balanced diets, food pyramids, RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowances), and nutritional disorders
- Calorimeters and measuring scales for calculating caloric values, portion sizes, and nutrient intake
- Sample food models representing age-appropriate and condition-specific diets
- Nutrition assessment tools including anthropometric kits (MUAC tapes, weighing scales, height boards)
Computer Laboratory 
Computer Laboratory designed to equip nursing students with the essential knowledge and skills required to thrive in today’s technology-driven healthcare environment. With a capacity of 120 high-performance computer systems, the lab supports academic learning, clinical documentation training, health informatics, and digital research activities in an interactive and resource-rich setting.
