Overview

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is a three-year undergraduate degree course in computer applications. This three-year degree is divided into six semesters. Throughout the programme, students learn cutting edge technologies to be proficient in the design and development of information technology tools. It is one of the popular undergraduate degree courses and gives the students a thorough insight into the world of computers and its application.

A BCA degree is considered to be at par with a B. Tech/BE degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. BCA programme is a blend of Computer Science, Management, and Engineering applications. It is oriented to meet the shortage of skilled human resources.

The curriculum in GIET University is designed keeping in mind the latest job market trends. Students undergo rigorous academic discipline to learn about Database Management Systems, Networking, Data Structure, Operating Systems, Computer Graphics, and programming languages like Python, C/C++, Java and so on. Each semester has laboratory course work where the students have to do compulsory lab assignments. Eligibility

  • The eligibility criteria for BCA is a pass in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State / Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects with minimum of 50% overall aggregate
  • Applicants appearing for their class XII final board examinations from any of the following boards:
  • CHSE, CBSE, ICSE & Any State Board.
