E-YUVA (Empowering Youth for Undertaking Value Added Innovative Translational Research) scheme is mandated to promote a culture of applied research and need-oriented (societal or industry) entrepreneurial innovation among young students and researchers. The scheme provides funding support (through fellowship and research grant), technical and business mentoring (through academic and industrial connection), orientation to entrepreneurial culture (through entrepreneurial workshop, seminar and exhibition) and exposure to bio-incubation hub (through networking) to students at various levels including undergraduates, post-graduates and post-doctoral.
EYC act as anchors and extend requisite support and mentoring to students to shaping their innovative idea into early incubation stage. EYC has a pre-incubation space which offers infrastructure, consumables and equipment for basic research and experimentation by selected students. Advanced research needs are fulfilled through bio-incubator connect.

BIRAC Innovation Fellowship @ Rs. 50,000/- p.m. & Innovation Grant of Rs. 5,00,000/- p.a.
BIRAC Innovation Fellowship @ Rs. 30,000/- p.m. & Innovation Grant of Rs. 3,00,000/- p.a.
Quarterly Stipend: INR 7,500 per quarter per student of the team Annual research grant: INR 2,50,000 per team
Selection Criteria:
The program is aimed at budding entrepreneurs:
- Students having early-stage raw idea that may have high potential to solve a problem
- Students having a lab scale technology or concept that need to proof for feasibility
- Idea should be innovative in a sense that it can be protected through patent or licensing
- Idea should bring some values with it in term of commercial or societal
- Idea or concept to be proof need to be concrete and very specific to product so that it can be complete within 12 to 18 months of time frame.

Post-Doctoral Innovation Fellow:
An Indian Student who has completed Ph.D in any discipline is eligible to apply for this fellowship. In case of PhD candidates, the fellow should apply within 2 years of completion of degree. All selected fellows must carry out their work full time at E-Yuva centre. Students pursuing Ph.D cannot be considered for fellowship grant. Selected fellows cannot pursue Ph.D. during the fellowship tenure
Post-Master Innovation Fellow:
An Indian Student who has completed Masters in any discipline is eligible to apply for this fellowship. In case of Masters candidates, the fellow should apply within 3 years of completion of degree.
E-Yuva Fellow (Under graduates):
Total 5 team, a team of upto 5 Indian students from Indian Institutes/College pursuing under graduation in any domain. Teams with students from different disciplines are encouraged. One team can have students from same/different college/institute. The team should be supported by a mentor/guide, The team should apply through an E-cell of a College/Institute. In case, the team comprises students from different colleges/institutes, each team member student’s college/institute should have an E-Cell/Institutional Innovation Council/ Incubation centre.
