The laboratories include Universal Testing Machine, Torsion Testing Machine (10KgF), Rockwell Hardness Testing Machine (187.5Kgf), Pending Testing Machine (300J), Cantilever Type Testing Machine, all belonging to material testing laboratory. Metallographic lab includes two trinocular microscopes. Thermal lab includes a Compression  Test Rig (10KgF/sq.cm). Fluid lab comprises of a number of modern closed rigs. The  Hydraulic Machines lab includes Pre-Turbine test rig, Kaplan test rig, Single cylinder petrol engine test rig, Air Blower test rig, Compressor test rig, Refrigeration test rig, conditioning test rig.

The dept. has started offering 02 years full time M.Tech programme in Industrial Engineering under Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Orissa.

The department has CAD/CAM Lab. comprising of 30 nos. of high end Pentium IV with Mechanical Desktop, AutoCAD 2000 & AutoCAD Inventory Series software.
