Research activity will get a great impetus the moment GIET becomes a university. Today from AICTE, ICSSR, ICHR, ICISR, DST etc. of govt. of India and host of foreign agencies shall be granting fund for the perfect set up for all kinds of R&D activities and over a period of time the GIET shall draw attention of the world for the quality of research and the contribution it makes to the society.

New Collaborative Research Programmes:

Following MoUs have been signed by GIET Gunupur for research work:

§  MoU between GIET - IMMT- NALCO has been signed in the year 2007-2008 and work is progressing. The amount sanctioned is 27.5 lakh for carrying out the investigation.

§  MoU between GIET - IMMT – NALCO has been signed in Feb 2009, for an amount 27.7 lakh

§  MoU between GIET - Aastropure has been signed this year Feb 2009

§  Signed MoU with “Innovate7 Technology” and GIET on 15th November 2008, for academic and research excellence in the area of Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology

§  Collaborative programme on Research guidance between GIET/NML is continuing since 2006

§  MOU with Life Science Foundation India, Morigeri, Karnataka for PG Diploma in Nano Biotechnology

§  GIET, Gunupur and J K Paper Mill, Rayagada, agreed to sign an MoU shortly. The technology transfer regarding waste water treatment shall be done after the agreement is signed by both the authorities.

§  Collaborative Program on development of “Ductile iron spum pipe was conducted and completed between GIET - BPUT - CET - IIT for IDCOL at Kalinga Iron works Barbil, 2008.

§  Collaborative project between GIET – Maitro Metal was completed recently.

 

GIET also undertakes consultancy work in the following areas:

(i)             Foundry Engineering

(ii)            Powder metallurgy/ Powder production

(iii)           Melting and casting of steel
