GIET is proud to announce that we are now offering an B.Tech. degree in Biotechnology since last year. This programme offers several advantages for the budding biologists.
The B. Tech in Biotechnology program is designed to be completed within four years. Students will be enrolled in the B.Tech degree programme in Biotechnology under Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Orissa.
This course will expose students to modern concepts and techniques in the field of Molecular and Cell Biology. Biotechnology includes vaccine development, drug design, protein engineering,gene therapy, diagnostics, industrial fermentation, technology, plant genetic engineering,cancer therapy, monitoring of water pollution and pest control.
The curriculum has chosen to concentrate on specialist topics drawn from the research programmes from experts aimed at providing the graduate with a thorough understanding and experience of the techniques, ideas and approaches central to today’s biotechnology. Topics are selected to meet changing demands for biotechnology professionals locally and internationally.
The course is aimed at graduate students wishing to expand their horizons and experience investigative science. It has been specifically designed to provide an excellent base and perspective from which one can proceed in a number of directions. B.Tech., Biotech students can consider a career in biotechnology in industry, health sciences, agriculture and the university research environment.
