Excellence - Our Essence has been the principle from day one. We have put our heart and soul in making GIET centre of technical education – par excellence. The rich infrastructure in terms of a sprawling campus, architecturally aesthetic massive and marvellous concrete structures adored with granite and marvel is just reflection of our motto. The state of the art laboratories, workshops and rich faculty drawn from the premier institutions of India and abroad are giving life to our dreams.

Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 1997 by Vidya Bharati Educational Trust, Gunupur, with the approval of AICTE & Government of Orissa, affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, with a motto of providing quality engineering education in a highly disciplined environment with international standards, along with character building of students who will be able to stand to the challenges of the present employment market.

We are marching fast towards becoming an autonomous college / deemed university and hence we are living no stone unturned. We have got ISO 9000:2001 certification as well as National Assessment and Accreditation council NAAC (UGC) due to our excellence. Now we vowed that we shall be one of the best technological institutions of India and world by completion of our 10th and 15th year respectively. Also, it is a matter of great pride that the top positions in the University have been constantly bagged by the students of GIET. Out of Best Ten GIETians have scored 6 positions during 2001, 2002 and 4 during 2003, 5 during 2004, 8 during 2005 and 6 during 2006 final Berhampur University examinations.

We understand that, parents pay us their hard earned money and students burn midnight oil to achieve a goal i.e. secure a descent employment after completion of studies. We have taken this into our heart and are working in a totally different unique style as a result of which 63% of our first batch pass outs are already employed. We have a target of providing jobs to 100% our pass outs who secure a 1st class in B.E. We are confident that with the spread of the fragrance of our pass outs in the industry, we shall be reaching the target of 100% placement in a very recent future.
